Space Exploration Technologies Corp., founded by Elon Musk in 2002 with the goal of reducing the cost of space access and enabling the colonization of Mars. SpaceX developed the Falcon 1, Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, and Starship launch vehicles, as well as the Dragon spacecraft. The company proved that orbital-class rocket boosters could land and fly again, fundamentally changing the economics of spaceflight. By the mid-2020s, Falcon 9 was launching more frequently than all other rockets in the world combined.
