The Douglas Aircraft Company, later McDonnell Douglas, then Boeing. Douglas built the Thor intermediate-range ballistic missile, which evolved into the Delta rocket family -- one of the most successful launcher lineages in history with over 400 flights spanning six decades. The Delta II became the workhorse of NASA''s planetary exploration program, launching Mars rovers, GPS satellites, and numerous scientific missions.
