The China National Space Administration oversees China''s rapidly expanding space program. CNSA operates the Tiangong space station, developed the Long March rocket family, and executed the Chang''e lunar exploration program that achieved the first landing on the far side of the Moon. China became the third nation to independently launch humans into orbit with the Shenzhou spacecraft in 2003, and has since established a permanent crewed presence in low Earth orbit.
