NASA/APL

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, a university-affiliated research center that has designed and built numerous NASA spacecraft. APL built New Horizons, which flew past Pluto, the Parker Solar Probe, which has flown closer to the Sun than any other spacecraft, and the DART mission, which deliberately impacted an asteroid to test planetary defense. APL has contributed instruments and spacecraft to missions spanning the entire solar system.
